Javier Rodríguez Zapatero has been the chairman of ISDI since January 2017, focusing on its international expansion and on forging relations with major corporations and institutions. Javier founded ISDI together with other professionals from the Internet industry in 2009. ISDI’s mission is to contribute to digital transformation by generating a competitive ecosystem by training digital professionals, driving digital talent, disseminating know-how, support for entrepreneurs and the digital transformation of companies. It is the first digital native business school in Spain and its footprint already covers Madrid, Barcelona, Mexico and USA (Silicon Valley).
For almost 9 years, up to December 2016, he was the General Manager of Google Spain, Portugal and Turkey, developing its commercial offer over Youtube, investing in mobile advertising and implementing the acquisition of digital skills by both companies and individuals, in order that Spanish society attains an important level of digital maturity. During his time at the company, Google Spain was known as one of the best subsidiaries of Google Europe.
Since March 2017, he has been an independent director of EVO Banco, which will help him to ramp up the bank’s digital transformation and to adapt to more innovative models.
Most of his professional career has been on the Internet, holding several executive posts in Yahoo! España since May 2000, becoming Vice President of Sales in Europe for the company in 2006. He has also worked in the areas of marketing and sales in Johnson Wax and Procter & Gamble.
Born in Córdoba, Rodríguez Zapatero is a graduate in Economic and Business Sciences, specializing in Finances. He also has a post-graduate degree in Auditing. He is a member of several information technology associations and was a professor on several MBA programs. He has been awarded several different prizes from the world of marketing and Internet. He is married with two children.
