Zeal for expeditions, tenacity, charm and an extraordinary talent for communication join forces in the adventurer and TV personality Jesús Calleja. Thanks to the combination of these qualities, one of the most original stars both on Spanish television and in the field of mountaineering has emerged.
Jesús Calleja’s accomplishments include climbing Mount Everest in 2005, over 60 expeditions around Nepal and scaling the Seven Summits between 2006 and 2008, the highest mountain peaks of each continent (including the highest in North and South America).
He started out in television with an idea that he had while descending Everest: if he managed to link several expeditions, he would not have to seek funds each time he wanted to undertake a journey. He therefore went around all the channels presenting his idea until Cuatro took an interest in the project. Since 2007, Desafío Extremo (Extreme Challenge Show) has run for seven, highly successful seasons and is among the Top 5 in target audience ratings.
