Who Is Isidre Esteve?

Isidre Esteve is a Catalan sportsman recognized in the world of motor sports, with an outstanding track record in enduro and rally racing. He has been a five-time Spanish Rally T.T. champion, as well as runner-up in the Enduro World Championship and a multiple Spanish Enduro champion. In 2007, while competing in the Almeria Rally, he suffered an accident that left him in a wheelchair, marking a pivotal moment in his life and career.

Refusing to give up his passion, Esteve returned to top-level competition in the Dakar Rally, now as an adapted car driver. His story is a true example of resilience, which led him to establish the Isidre Esteve Foundation (FIE) in 2011, dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and promoting social inclusion.

What is his Background?

Before his accident, Isidre Esteve excelled in motorcycle racing, achieving notable positions such as fourth place in the Dakar Rally in 2001 and 2005. In 2008, after his recovery, he began competing in rallies in an adapted car, achieving an impressive 81st place in the Dakar and, in 2017, a 34th place overall and 4th in his category.

Esteve is also the author of several inspiring books, including “The Luck of My Destiny”, “The 6 Stages of Life: Overcoming Adversities and Achieving True Success” (co-authored with Joan Elías), and “Unstoppable: Drive Your Life Where You Choose”, where he shares reflections on resilience, personal growth, and life. As president of his foundation, Isidre Esteve continues to promote inclusion, research, and support for people with disabilities.
