Understanding Spanish cinema from the political transition to the present day necessarily involves recognizing the professional career and work as an author of Fernando Colomo. As a screenwriter, director and producer, his work has given character and content to cinema. Film director, actor, screenwriter and producer, his cinema brings, above all, a personal attitude when facing the challenge of developing, producing, shooting and projecting a film. A graduate of the School of Architecture and the Official Film School, he has his own film production company, Fernando Colomo Producciones.
Among his most recent films are La Isla Bonita (2015) , for which he was nominated for the Goya for Best New Actor and received the RNE Sant Jordii Award for Cinematography, and La Banda Picasso (2012).Also included in his filmography are La mano negra, awarded at the Mystfest in Italy or La vida alegre, his great success and for which Verónica Forqué received the Goya Award for Best Actress. He is also the author of El caballero del dragón, Alegre ma non troppo, awarded at the Paris Film Festival as Best Film, El efecto mariposa, Los años bárbaros and Bajarse al moro, a film version of the theater play by José Luis Alonso de Santos.
