Felix Baumgartner is an Austrian skydiver, daredevil, and BASE jumper renowned for his groundbreaking feats, including his record-breaking skydive from the stratosphere as part of the Red Bull Stratos project. On October 14, 2012, he made history by jumping from a helium balloon at an altitude of 39 kilometers (24 miles), becoming the first person to break the sound barrier without vehicular power, reaching speeds of 1,357.64 km/h (843.6 mph). Baumgartner holds world records for vertical freefall distance and vertical speed, making him one of the most iconic figures in extreme sports
