Saran Kaba Jones is the Founder and CEO of FACE Africa, a community development organization dedicated to improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in rural communities across sub-Saharan Africa. Born in Liberia, Saran left the country at the age of eight due to civil unrest. After nearly two decades, she returned to help her home country, focusing on providing clean water and empowering women and girls. FACE Africa has benefited over half a million people with sustainable WASH solutions, prioritizing community capacity building and gender equality by ensuring that women represent at least half of its WASH committees and staff.
Saran’s career in the social sector began in 2009 with the founding of FACE Africa, an organization funded by partners such as JP Morgan Chase, Coca-Cola, and the Robert Bosch Foundation to build vital water and sanitation infrastructure in Liberia. FACE Africa played a key role in the Ebola response in Rivercess County, promoting community engagement and preventative health campaigns.
