Who is Pete Goss?

Pete Goss is a world-renowned British adventurer and sailor known for his courage, innovation, and leadership in extreme situations. A former Royal Marine and Associate Fellow at Said Business School, University of Oxford, he combines a career of bold expeditions with acclaimed work as a motivational speaker. Throughout more than 300,000 nautical miles, Pete Goss has competed in seven transatlantic races and two round-the-world races, gaining international fame for his heroic rescue of Raphaël Dinelli during the 1996 Vendée Globe. For this feat, he received France’s Legion of Honour and was made an MBE by the Queen. In addition to his nautical adventures, he led the building and sailing of the historic “Spirit of Mystery” to Australia and undertook kayaking expeditions around Tasmania and to the North Pole. He trained amateur teams for the British Steel Challenge and led the groundbreaking Team Philips project. He is the author of *Close to the Wind* and has delivered talks and training to institutions and companies worldwide, embodying resilience, leadership, and a passion for adventure.
