Who is Cuca Roseta?

Cuca Roseta is one of Portugal’s most acclaimed and respected fado singers. Over her career, she has released ten albums with world-class producers and performed on major stages in more than 50 countries. She has worked with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Bryan Adams, and Julio Iglesias, and has served as a judge on high-profile television talent shows. She is also known for her commitment to wellbeing and healthy living, and authored a book about gratitude and happiness. Her conferences cover motivation, overcoming challenges, and balancing professional life with full-time motherhood.

What is her professional background?

Cuca Roseta began her musical career during her adolescence performing pop and rock with the Portuguese group Toranja before shifting her focus toward fado in the late 1990s. Her career is deeply rooted in fado, standing out for her powerful voice and moving performances. Mentored by established figures in the genre, she began performing in Lisbon’s historic fado clubs, which led to her break in 2007 when she appeared in the Goya Award-winning film Fados, directed by Carlos Saura. Over the course of her recording career, Roseta has released eight studio albums. Beyond her musical achievements, she has gained visibility as a judge on popular talent shows and as a wellness advocate.

Parallel to her global concert tours and cross-genre collaborations with artists like David Bisbal and Karl Jenkins, Roseta has maintained a prominent presence in Portuguese television and media. She served as a judge on the national broadcast competitions Rising Star and Got Talent Portugal, while also appearing as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Beyond her studio work, she continues to perform internationally, representing the modern generation of Portuguese fado artists.

She holds a black belt in Taekwondo, practices yoga, and promotes gratitude and acceptance as keys to a fulfilling life. Roseta has contributed to a variety of causes, including road safety and environmental conservation. She partnered with the Automóvel Clube de Portugal to release the single We’ll All Safely Get Home which she performed in 2013 at the International Automobile Federation (FIA) gala in Paris. In 2019, she was appointed ambassador for the Mirpuri Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on environmental conservation.
