Who is Andoni Luis Aduriz?

Andoni Luis Aduriz is a Basque chef internationally renowned for transforming cuisine into a laboratory of creativity and exploration. As the founder of Mugaritz, his career has been a constant quest to push the boundaries of gastronomy, always betting on innovation, culture, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Named one of the 100 most creative people in the world by Forbes, he has developed a unique culinary vision that merges art, science, and culture in every dish. Born in San Sebastián in 1971, Aduriz trained at the Guipúzcoa School of Hospitality before joining the legendary El Bulli with Ferran Adrià, an experience that shaped his avant-garde approach. In 1998, he opened Mugaritz, a restaurant now awarded two Michelin stars and synonymous with innovation. He has advised gastronomic projects in Spain and abroad, is a founding trustee of the Basque Culinary Center, and has lectured at universities such as Harvard and MIT. His recognitions include the World Chef’s Choice Award, the Icon Award from The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the National Gastronomy Award, and the Creativity Gourmet Award, among many others. He has published more than 22 books and supports social and health initiatives through gastronomy.
