Dr. Andrea Bonime-Blanc is founder and CEO of GEC Risk Advisory, a strategic governance, risk, reputation and ethics advisor to companies, government agencies and non-profits. She is a board director, and held senior executive roles for almost two decades at Bertelsmann, Verint and PSEG.
She is author of numerous articles and several books including The Reputation Risk Handbook (Greenleaf 2014), Emerging Practices in Cyber-Risk Governance (The Conference Board 2016), Gloom to Boom: How Leaders Transform Risk into Resilience and Value (forthcoming Routledge 2019) and coauthor, The Artificial Intelligence Imperative (Praeger 2018).
She is Independent Ethics Advisor to the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico, Governance Faculty to the National Association for Corporate Directors, Start-Up Mentor at Plug & Play Tech Center, Life Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and Chair Emeritus to the Ethics & Compliance Association. She is adjunct or visiting faculty at several universities including NYU, IEB (Spain) and IAE (Argentina).
She received an inaugural Directors & Chief Risk Officers (DCRO) 2018 Exemplar Award and was one of Ethisphere’s 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics in 2014 and 2015. She was born and raised in Germany and Spain, received a PhD in Political Science and JD from Columbia University and lives in New York City. She tweets as @GlobalEthicist.
