Martin Wolf is the Associate Editor and Chief Economics Commentator at the Financial Times in London. He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 2000 “for services to financial journalism.” He served as a member of the UK government’s Independent Commission on Banking from June 2010 to September 2011.
Mr. Wolf is an honorary fellow of Nuffield College, University of Oxford; Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford; and King’s College London. He is an honorary professor at the University of Nottingham.
Wolf was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of Nottingham in July 2006; an honorary Doctor of Science (Economics) from the University of London by the London School of Economics in December 2006; an honorary Doctor of Science by the University of Warwick in July 2009; an honorary Doctor of Letters by Kingston University in January 2010; and an honorary Doctor of Letters by Macquarie University in Australia in 2012.
Mr. Wolf was a joint winner of the Wincott Foundation senior prize for excellence in financial journalism in 1989 and again in 1997. He won the RTZ David Watt memorial prize in 1994. In 2006, he became the sixth recipient of the Catalunya Oberta Foundation Journalism Award.
