We had the pleasure of accompanying Martin Eberhard, founder of Tesla and one of our featured speakers in Technology and Innovation, at the 34th AMIS Insurance Convention in Mexico, where he shared his vision on the future of mobility, sustainability, and the role of innovation in industries that are traditionally resistant to transformation.

In a context where technological transformation challenges established business models, we had the opportunity to ask for his expert perspective on the challenges and paradigms of innovation in the business world. Which disruptive factors can be applied to other business environments? His response was clear: the key is a curious mindset that is willing to question established ideas. The second question focused more on the role of spokespersons and CEOs: What are the most common misconceptions or limiting beliefs about innovation among leaders? Eberhard pointed out that the greatest mistake is assuming the world will not change. This requires leaders to remain alert to current developments and understand how they impact the business in order to respond appropriately.

 

 

During his talk, Martin Eberhard also shared his experience at Tesla, a period that not only broke technical paradigms but also shifted the narrative of the market. He also explained how a compelling narrative can reshape consumer perception and pave the way for new technologies. He addressed current challenges in the automotive sector, from logistical and geopolitical barriers to energy dilemmas in countries heavily dependent on polluting sources. Regarding artificial intelligence, he acknowledged its transformative potential but stressed the importance of understanding its limits before embracing it blindly.
